Was it the right thing to do?
Was Auburn city councilman Arthur Dowdell wrong for taking Confederate Flags off of the graves of Confederate soldiers at Pine Hill Cemetery? That is the question asked in the OANow article on the recent indecent involving the councilman. The mayor indicates that he believes it is a private matter and I imagine that means that the APD is not currently involved but that may not be the case. I have no mixed feelings about what he did but I do think the response should be handled with care. Not to prevent legal justice but to help the community keep from becoming divided.
Vote for yourself now and then read the article and Auburn Mayor Bill Ham’s response.
